New Tricks

Hadley has a couple of new tricks. First up, this little gem.

And then there's this.  Hadley is playing with my 44oz unsweet iced tea. Yes, I realize that the drink is almost as big as her.  If you listen closely at the beginning of the video, she just learned how to blow bubbles in the drink.

Bedtime

Here are a few pictures of Hadley getting ready for bed last night.

Damn, I'm good!

I'll be the first to admit, I don't cook all that often.  But, when I do, it's usually pretty good (I'm also very humble!).

I made Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork because anything with Dr. Pepper in it has to be delicious! And it was...but very spicy!

Here's what I put in the oven: pork shoulder, onions, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, salt, pepper and Dr. Pepper.

While the pork was cooking, I made some coleslaw.

And here's what came out of the oven: not very pretty but so tasty!

I said to heck with the bun and just put the coleslaw over top of the pulled pork.

I'll be sure to make this again!

Because I know you don't tune in to see what I'm making for dinner, here's what Hadley did while I was in the kitchen.

A little of this:

A little of that:

Playtime 2

I'm not sure if she's upset with the doll or if she's just waiting for it to talk back to her.

Hadley's rise and shine process

First, she opens her eye.

Then she has to stretch a little.

Then she starts thinking about what a great day it will be.

And then she gets excited for all the fun she'll have!

Playtime

Playtime in Hadley's room is a regular occurrence.

But it doesn't just involve Hadley playing with her toys.  We invite everyone back to play!

Some have to be persuaded to stick around and have fun.

And sometimes Hadley's not the only one playing with her toys.

So, let's end this post with a little video of Hadley playing.  In this video, I'm playing the jack-in-the-box.  Watch how she blinks/squints her eyes when she knows the jack-in-the-box is about to pop open!

What a smart cookie!

Going green

Well, we just made the leap to a hybrid.

I know what you're thinking...will they fit in that tiny car?  And surprisingly, the answer is yes!

Yep, I even let the dogs in it.  After all, they are my babies too!

Look at Cane looking out the lower back window!

Both Bella and Cane can keep a eye on Hadley for me.

And the gas mileage...well, I took a quick trip across town last night.  On my way back, there wasn't much traffic out so I took a little time to experiment driving the hybrid.

By taking it a little (but not that much) slower than I normally would drive and being able to drive so that I was only using the battery during some of the trip, I was able to get over 85mpg for that quick trip!  Isn't that crazy? Now, that's not going to be the norm of course.  It will average out around 50mpg but it was fun to see how much and how far I could go on just battery power. Go Green! :)
