PB&J

Hadley and her friend Olivia went to a concert.

Let me be a little more clear about that.

They went to a 30 minute "concert" followed by some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

I had these really cute boots all picked out for Hadley to wear but she was feeling these red, sparkly shoes instead.

The concert was at the Children's Theater and was geared towards 2-6 year old kids. The kids could sit in the seats or on the floor..wherever they wanted.

Hadley sat both places to watch the performance. There were 4 performers.  One playing a violin, one on percussion instruments, one on clarinet, and the last one playing the trumpet. They told a little bit about each instrument and then played various songs with each one.

Hadley was fairly interested up until the 20-25 minute mark.

But, thankfully, she held it together until the end.

Then we went to have some PB&J sandwiches and a drink.

And we finished off with a "petting zoo" for the instruments.

She seemed to be most interested in the percussion instruments.

It was a fun time.  Thanks LuLu!

Learning to use chopsticks

We don't mess around in this house. If you want to learn how to use chopsticks then you just have to jump in and learn...whether you're eating applesauce or not.

Success!

Halloween Part 3

Here are pictures from the night we went trick-or-treating with our friend Max and his parents. We gave it a good, solid effort for about 45 minutes and finished on a high note (i.e. no meltdowns).

We started out in the wagon on the walk to the neighborhood.

Then Hadley and Max got out and walked a few houses. They did fine but there were a lot of people out and Hadley and Max were pretty slow.

So they got back in the wagon and we kept on trick-or-treating...

...drive-thru style.

So, in conclusion, the first true Halloween trick-or-treating experience for Hadley was a great success!

Halloween Part 2

Here is our attempt at a picture on the front porch with dogs, pumpkins, and Hadley.(Halloween blog post from 2012.)

Here's the dry run with just the dogs and the pumpkins.

It's pretty respectable.

Then Hadley joins in. Pretty good picture.  Just to note - Hadley was supposed to be Little Red Riding Hood but she refused to wear the cape.  So...I'm not sure what you call this costume. Whatever you call it, she liked wearing it.

This is me trying to hold everyone (Bella) together while Cane has spotted a cat.

This is me realizing that Cane has just spotted a cat!

And this is my, "I hope you got a good picture" face because we are out of time.  We quickly had to get the dogs back inside before Cane ran that cat up the nearest tree.

Because if you'll remember, he's not a fan of cats.

And just for a fun trip down memory lane...

Hadley's first Halloween in 2011.

Halloween Part 1

Hadley hasn't even gone trick-or-treating yet and she's already gotten a ton of toys, candy, and a book!
