We left on our 9th annual girls trip yesterday and Hadley was all smiles.
She was entertained by my phone, a DVD player, and some new toys. We stopped and had a picnic (or as Hadley calls it, "a picmic") at Cumberland Gap State Park which was just barely over the Virginia State line. The weather was a bit chilly for our taste but it worked out fine.
Then we loaded back up and headed farther south. We made it through the curvy North Carolina mountains with a few complaints from Hadley (and me too) of a tummy ache. So, we stopped around Ashville, NC at a gas station for a break and to refuel. Luckily, I was in the process of getting Hadley out of the car when she decided to relieve her tummy ache and empty the contents of her stomach on the blanket she had on her lap. As far as vomiting goes, it was pretty perfect. We (a total team effort) got her undressed, cleaned up, and redressed in no time. She immediately felt better and was ready to party. Once we got back on the road, she drank an entire Ginger Ale, watched more videos, played more until we had the follow-up potty break request which we were able to fairly quickly honor and reward with some cotton candy!
Once completed, we were just 40 miles away from our overnight destination of Columbia, SC. We loaded our stuff up to the room, kicked off our shoes, ordered dinner in, and relaxed.
Then got ready for bed and climbed in. Just to note: we did not sleep 4 to a bed. One person in the picture below was just saying goodnight before we all turned in.
