Here's a sneak peek into what Hadley's like when she wakes up in the morning.

9 Month Checkup
Hadley had her 9 month checkup today. I think the reason she woke up all smiles this morning is because she knew there would be no shots today!
She took a little time to play with her best friend, Cane.
Then she took a bath so she'd be nice and clean for her appointment.
The timing of the appointment unfortunately ran into her morning nap time a little but she held it together (for the most part).
The part that every woman dreads.
This is typically my reaction too!
She got a good report from the doctor. She's healthy and growing and developing right on schedule.
Once the doctor visit was over, I dropped Hadley off at her Mimi's house and when I pulled into my driveway, I looked at my dashboard which tells me the distance I just traveled, miles per gallon, and fuel cost for that trip. Check out the picture below. I went 9.4 miles and got 90.4MPG! It cost me $0.37 for the trip. And honestly, I wasn't event trying!

Morning Playtime
Hadley and Cane were having a lot of fun yesterday morning. I don't think I've ever heard Hadley laugh quite like this!

Getting ready
Hadley and I are thinking about getting ready for our trip.
Here's Hadley's list:
Toys
Snacks
Sippy Cups
Diapers
My list is just a little bit (or a lot) longer.
I haven't told Bella and Cane that I'm leaving. I don't want them to be sad.
But they will have lots of fun while I'm gone, they just don't know it yet!
Hadley's pretty exhausted from all the excitement...and she's not the only one!

Mexican Wedding Cookies
For years, I've enjoyed the Mexican Wedding Cookies that Nana (AKA Mrs. Marcum) makes every Christmas! This year, she was sidelined by back surgery and couldn't make them. Turns out, I missed them more than I realized.
As we prepared for our Girl's Trip, it was suggested by Lucy that we make them for our trip. Up until now, these cookies have always been Christmas cookies to me but, since we skipped last Christmas, it sounded like a great idea. I really didn't want to have to wait TWO YEARS to have these cookies again. So, Nana shared her recipe and I brushed off my baking skills!
And now I can rest easy because I know I can always make these cookies and think of wonderful memories of past Christmases and Girl's Trips. Thanks for sharing Nana! As I told you yesterday, "I'll be happy to makes these cookies with you or for you for years to come!"
And I'll be sure to pass the tradition down to this sweet girl!

My Prerogative
Since Bella is a girl, she has the right to change her mind.
And I'm pretty sure she has.
I think she's decided to be friends with Hadley because Hadley has treats!
And Hadley is heels over head about it!

Oh yeah!
This morning I filled up the Prius for the first time...
And this, my friends, was a great experience.
$33.74! Are you kidding me?!? This is going to be great!
And Hadley had a good day too. She got a new pair of shoes from her Nita and Papa Burl for her upcoming trip to sunny Hilton Head.
And Wissel brought her this back from Epcot Center. Super sweet!
I'll post pictures of her actually in these nice gifts soon. Until then...it's bedtime!
