Vacation Day 4

Day 4 started out with a delicious breakfast.

Then we headed to the beach!

We came back to the pool for some swimming and lunch.

Then it was naptime for some.

That evening the kids got baths, snacked on bananas while the homemade pizzas and bear calzones were cooking.

We managed to set off the fire alarm and some may have been trying to help by fanning what they thought was the fire alarm but actually it was the doorbell.

Hadley wanted to practice saying the blessing for us.

Then it was time to dig in, pig out, and go to bed.

Vacation Day 3

This was a great day. It was filled with beach time...

...playtime...

...and my favorite...dinner time!

Vacation Day 2

On our second day we left Columbia and drove to Bluffton, South Carolina just in time for a delicious lunch at one of our favorite spots, The Squat 'n' Gobble.

Then we made it to the house. Case went down for a nap and Hadley immediately got into the pool and proceeded to almost drown numerous times.

She made lots of progress learning how to swim but this week but she also gave all of us about 25 heart attacks in the process.

Vacation Day 1

We set off on our beach trip and drove to Cumberland Gap National Park to have our annual picnic. And we were all still smiling.

And we were also hungry.

And some people were cold.

Hadley got to explore a little bit and found a bug.

We took several selfies, made one last bathroom stop, and got back on the road while keeping our fingers crossed that the kids' lunches would stay down through the zigs and zags of the North Carolina mountains.

Once we made it through the mountains, a pit stop was in order. Here Hadley is trying to convince me that she needs 3 kinds of candy. In the end, we settled on 2.

We made it to Columbia, South Carolina without much trouble or crying. Hadley insisted on carrying her suitcase into the hotel.

Case wanted to help her, like the gentleman he is, but she was having none of it.

Probably because the suitcase was filled with her most prized possessions.

Luckily Case did MUCH better sleeping  in the hotel room than he did the year before (believe me when I say there was plenty of room for improvement). Everyone enjoyed a restful night's sleep...especially Hadley and Fluffa (the sheep stuffed animal).
