Eggstatic!

Hadley got a new toy the other day.  

It's a carton of eggs...

...and she's loving it.

Then she really got into it and started dive bombing them!

We also had some fun with her little piggies.

and with her jack-in-the-box.

And when she got tried, she played laying down.

All of this play made her sleep like a log last night and...

...then she woke up looking like this.

Who doesn't love a smiling, happy baby? I know I do! 

If I have to

For months we've been waiting for Hadley to crawl and for months she's been totally uninterested.  She would make it to her hands and knees and then push her feet out behind her so that she ended up on her belly.  

But she's finally decided that she will try to crawl...if she has to. 

I realize that you almost can't tell from this video that she's really crawling.  But she is, I just didn't catch a good example to video.

But really, why would she want to crawl when she loves to stand and walk?

We'll see how much time she devotes to improving her crawling skills as opposed to improving her walking skills.   

Morning time fun

Here's a glimpse into our morning yesterday.

 

Birthday Week

In typical fashion, I'm celebrating my birthday all week long. So far I've had 2 family dinners and 2 lunches, one with friends and one with family! Lucky me!  Last night was family dinner #2 and Hadley had on a celebratory tiara!

And since she's too young for a beer, she had a juice box.

That's a whole lot of candles!

But I handled them.

And so it begins

So, Hadley is beginning to really want to walk.  She's taken a couple of unaided steps but she still has a long way to go before I would call it walking.

She's a big fan of just falling towards you.  I call this the trust fall and it reminds me of an episode of Tosh.O.

*Warning, most of you that read this blog probably won't find the clip below very funny.  But I do. I have a twisted sense of humor...but you already knew that.

An Evening with Hadley, Cane, and Goodnight Moon

Hadley loves to play with her Goodnight Moon book.  I'm not really sure why it's her favorite of all of her books, but it is. She comes from two non-readers (don't judge me), so I'm just glad she knows how to hold a book and turn the pages. 

Here she is doing a little reading before bed.  As usual, Cane isn't far away.

Hi and Bye

Hadley's got the waving hello/goodbye thing down pat. She even likes to practice waving to herself in the mirror.

 

Here she is in church on Sunday morning.

And enjoying a bottle on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

(side note: as cute as this picture is, it's hard for me to look at it because I know that 10 minutes later Hadley threw up most of that bottle all over me. Oh well.)

And here's Ms. Bella Rose protecting her new bone from Cane (and everyone else).

And in case anyone is wondering...I'm still liking the Prius.  70.6 MPG on a quick trip in town.  Not too shabby!
